NYS Executive Budget Analysis
Colleagues:
We have concluded our detailed analysis of the Executive Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-27.
Kudos to Chris Black, Director of Legislative and Political Affairs, to Julia Zaremba, Legislative Representative, and to Alexis Savoie, our recently appointed Legislative Intern, for their hard work on this.
We are now preparing for testimony, which will take place on February 24th, the same day that over 150 UUPers are signed up to come and advocate for our work. It's a new record for participants! Thanks to all who have signed up and who will be joining in this important work. We have to make gains on what the Governor has proposed, because it's just not enough — especially given the budget hit that will be coming from the full implementation of the "Big Ugly" bill passed last year.
